Chabad Lubavitch of Ft. Lauderdale is a branch of worldwide Chabad Lubavitch, the world’s largest network of Jewish educational and outreach organizations, with abundant and varied programs that touch the lives of millions of people in thousands of communities throughout the world.
In 1990, Inspired and directed by the Rebbe, Rabbi Menachem M. Schneerson, of righteous memory, a young shliach and his wife arrived to open a Chabad center in Fort Lauderdale, an area where Jewish life was virtually non-existent. Undetered, Moishe Meir and Penina, found a storefront, and began knocking on doors to put together a minyan. Despite resistance, the Rabbi persevered and with sheer determination was able to start the project which became the vibrant and growing community it is today, occupying nearly a block long campus on the Galt Ocean Mile.
Treasuring the infinite value of every individual, Chabad Lubavitch of Fort Lauderdale is dedicated to promoting and strengthening Jewish awareness , pride and identity regardless of affiliation or background, and today has five branches throughout East Fort Lauderdale as well as, Shalom Preschool, the Grow Hebrew School, Bar/Bas Mitzvah Club, C-Teen, YJP, Women's League, Mench Club, Friendship Circle, Adult Education including certified JLI classes, Chabad on Call, Wisdom Circle, Friends for Friends, Holiday parties and Events, Daily Services, multiple programs and educational, social and religious services including hospitality rooms in local hospitals.
